Feature Request

It would be good to start collecting anonymised telemetry data to gain a bit more insight to our user base.
I am not sure what kind of data vscode's telemetry API allows you to collect but I think the following would be good to know

  • Country (relevant to extension localisation and issue support)
  • OS (relevant for feature development)
  • Linter used (relevant for driving compiler development)
  • Other tools used (fpm, fortls) (relevant for gauging human user base since conda and pypi downloads include ci and bot stats)
