Combine MotionValue, useSpring and animate()

With the new addition of the animate function I'm wondering if it's possible to use useMotionValue, useSpring and animate() together for the same value?

Let's start with useMotionValue and useSpring:

const x = useMotionValue(0)
const xSpring = useSpring(x, {...config});

<motion.div style={{x: xSpring}}>

Can we add animate() to this use case or would the value used in the <motion> component (xSpring) now be double-damped (first by animate(), then by useSpring?)

// would that double-damp xSpring???

  animate(x, 100, {..config});
}
