Feature request: Exclude folders and files inside of project and workspace

My proposial is to add possibility that the user could exclude specific folders and files from showing inside of the explorer of the project and workspace.

Currently seem that the above either doesn't exist or is not documented.

Perhaps you want one of the project plugins that add functionality to the built-in project capabilities.

There is no agreement how the built-in projects should operate hence there are (IIRC) three project plugins.

I had discovered that this functionality is already build-in, but it seem it's unfocumented. However, it requires improvement
