Gluster Upgrade Procedure Detail

Hi There!

The current “Upgrade to 7” (there is no “Upgrade to 8” doc as yet?) Document refers to the upgrade process as being the same as “Upgrade to 4.1” (https://docs.gluster.org/en/latest/Upgrade-Guide/upgrade_to_4.1/)

In the “Upgrade to 4.1” document, Step (3) merely mentions “Install Gluster 4.1” - This should be more descriptive including the relevant commands.

For example, if the user initially installed Gluster 7 by following the Gluster “Install Guide” they would have added the Gluster 7 PPA and so upgrading to say Gluster 8 would also involve removing the Gluster 7 PPA, adding the Gluster 8 PPA and running
apt-get update && app-get upgrade?

Hi @harigowtham , I can see there's an "Upgrade to 8" document now but its not clear how to upgrade from Gluster 7 to Gluster 8? I tried to manually remove the gluster-7 ppa and add the gluster-8 ppa but no gluster-8 ppa exists (I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS)?

I saw that the Gluster-8 PPA was finally added but I still can’t upgrade from Gluster-7 to Gluster-8. I’ve raised a specific bug for that at the following site gluster/glusterfs#1364 But I still think the upgrade documentation could be much clearer.
