addons-example does not run #1704

The addons example https://github.com/home-assistant/addons-example listed in documentation at https://developers.home-assistant.io/docs/add-ons/tutorial#bonus-template-add-on-repository, does not work. Cloning and trying to start home assistant in VsCode dev container results in an error:

Executing task: supervisor_run 

zsh:1: permission denied: supervisor_run

 *  The terminal process "/usr/bin/zsh '-c', 'supervisor_run'" terminated with exit code: 126. 
 *  Press any key to close the terminal.

Would have raised this issue in https://github.com/home-assistant/addons-example, but issues is not enabled there.
