iDempiere Code of Conduct

Purpose

A primary goal of iDempiere is to be inclusive to the largest number of contributors, with the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof). This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

We invite all those who participate in iDempiere to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.

Our Communication Guidelines

The following rules are actively applied according First rule: There are no rules.

If you want something to orientate, use these:

  • Please avoid flamewars, trolling, personal attacks, repetitive arguments, advertising.
  • Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
  • Personal attacks on others are not nice (but may be funny).
  • Do not post if you do not have anything constructive to say in the post.
  • Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully ... without insult and personal attack. Differing opinions is one of the things that make this site great.
  • The best place for your question is the project's forum. We get a large number of emails. If your email contains a question about iDempiere we will kindly point you to the forums.
  • There is no selling allowed in the forums.
  • Avoid demanding contributions or cooperation from others.
  • Avoid blaming anybody for not contributing or cooperating.
  • When you want to post in another language please use appropiate sub-wiki.

Our Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable behavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any instances of unacceptable behavior.

Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or permanently any contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies both within project spaces and in public spaces when an individual is representing the project or its community. Examples of representing a project or community include using an official project e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event. Representation of a project may be further defined and clarified by project maintainers.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the project team. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The project team is obligated to maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident. Further details of specific enforcement policies may be posted separately.

Project maintainers who do not follow or enforce the Code of Conduct in good faith may face temporary or permanent repercussions as determined by other members of the project's leadership.
