Chronograf (1.8.2) Log viewer columns widths can't be resized/do not autofit content #5455

Firstly, thanks for all the hard work that has gone into the log viewer, this really is a brilliant addition to an already excellent product.

This might be an issue with my setup, but it could be useful to others in a similar situation.

I run a TICK stack in kubernetes, and have services that use winstonjs to output influx-format files, which telegraf tails into influxdb, so that I can use the log viewer in chronograf. To namespace logs within the same application (being docker it's only one application per host anyway) I use an appname in the format of <service_name>_<log_context>. This results in quite wide data values in the Application column, and I cannot find a way to resize it.

Any suggestions, or is this something that could be added in the future?

@richjyoung thank you for this issue!

columns aren't resizeable right now, but you can configure which ones are shown or hidden, as well as the ordering.

This is also an issue for me. I need to do a lot of horizontal scrolling which could be significantly reduced if it didn't have so much whitespace.
