Using custom named colors in inkline.config -- regular css var not created?

I've added custom-named colors (see 'darker-blue' and 'deep-blue') in inkline.config.ts:

}

Whereas the generated variables for color green include the expected '--color-green', the generated variables for the custom-named colors do not generate this base variable:

(No --darker-blue variable is defined.)
