Ticketing this to track the ongoing effort to turn the contents of generate/generator into an independent package called macrome which iter-tools will then use as a devDependency. Progress is good. The package isn't published yet, but already it has significant improvements over the version integrated with this repo. The new repo is https://github.com/conartist6/macrome

Hi past me. Still working on this. You made it into a huge amount of work, but there's also now the potential for some huge payoff as well, and it seems likely (to me at least) that the macrome build system will survive and thrive outside the context of iter-tools
