Attempting to delete a directory results in permanent busy indicator

Describe the bug
I can use the context menu to delete files, but any attempt to delete a directory results in a busy indicator. After that, the application doesn't complete any operations.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Log into an FTP provider with plain FTP, username & password.
2. Navigate to an editable directory that contains subdirectories.
3. Right-click on a directory and select "Delete."
4. See permanent busy indication in status bar.
5. Try to list contents of another directory.

Expected behavior
The directory is deleted.
