Hey, this issue is just FYI - I've created and AUR package which installs jd on Arch-like distros.

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/jd-tool-bin/

Feel free to add this (or not) to the installation notes :)

@radmen I would like to include this AUR package in our release process. The next version v1.5.0 will have a few nice features: https://github.com/josephburnett/jd/projects/1 Should I just notify you when it's released?

Hey @josephburnett I'm sorry to say this but I switched off from Arch/Manjaro and I'm no longer maintaining any of the AUR packages I created.

I think there are a few options:

  1. I can mark the package as outdated, to indicate that it should be updated
  2. We can wait until someone else will try to adopt the package
  3. I can re-adopt it and push the update

1 & 2 are will solely depend on the community and it's hard to say whether someone will try to pick the maintenance of the package. The other ones I handled got adopted so there's a chance same will happen for jd.

The last option is something I can make, though, in a long run, I won't be able to properly maintain the package. Most likely I'd push the update and after a few days abandon it again. If that's something you'd like to make, please ping me when new version will be released.

Please let me know what are your thoughts on this.
