Code of Conduct

Purpose

The Joelang community is dedicated to providing a friendly, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their background or level of experience. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

By engaging in the Joelang community, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct, which applies to all communication channels, including but not limited to GitHub issues, pull requests, chat, and email correspondence.

Our Values

  1. Be welcoming and respectful: Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Encourage and support your fellow community members.

  2. Be patient and understanding: Remember that everyone comes from different backgrounds and has varying levels of experience. Be patient and understanding when communicating with others.

  3. Be open to collaboration: Embrace new ideas and perspectives. Actively seek out opportunities to collaborate with others and share your knowledge.

  4. Be professional: Keep discussions focused on the project and its goals. Maintain a professional tone and avoid using inappropriate language.

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Harassment or bullying of any kind, including personal attacks, offensive language, or threats.
  • Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
  • Sharing offensive, inappropriate, or sexually explicit content.
  • Spamming or excessive self-promotion.
  • Publishing other people's private information without their explicit permission.

Reporting

If you witness or experience any unacceptable behavior, or if you have any concerns about the conduct of someone in the community, please report the issue to the project maintainers. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.

Consequences

If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, the maintainers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including temporary or permanent removal from the community.
