Deprecated Request Package

Describe the bug
kubernetes/client-node depends on the request package. This package is deprecated and is causing security vulnerabilities since it relies on tough-cookie version 2.5.0.

I see that there was supposed to be a migration from request to fetch. Is this still happening?
Are there are any options to fix the security vulnerability in the meantime?
