How should "label" option be used?

I'm new on this controller and I'm importing it in my project (wrapping it for a J2CL/GWT chart lib).

I see that treemap controller has got the label option and it is also map as scriptable:

I don't know why but it seems not working (I'm pretty sure it's my problem!).

Furthermore I have also another doubt because the dataset controller has got already the label definition, to label the dataset.

Submitted PR #48 in order to add new option to format the labels.
