When opening a new rust file with the Rust extension, you have to enter something like a character or newline before the syntax highlighting starts. I do not know if that is an error with lapce or the rust extension. Is automatic syntax highlighting on the roadmap?

It’s a bug we recently introduced.

I don’t think we’ve existing issue for it so let’s keep this open
