I noticed a similar issue when creating a game against the machine in Chrome. This is how it looks like with time control set to real time or correspondence:

The image is slightly blurry. It is not blurry when setting the time control to unlimited.

In Firefox the blurring never occurs.

Same problem with Chrome on Mac. No problem with FireFox.

Similar issues with web UI frameworks reported here and here.

Are we being affected by something similar?...
