Auto Detection without modifying settings.json

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I am using source control for my Angular project and using the i18n Ally extension. I like the Auto Detection of paths, however whenever I change branches I get merge conflicts as the settings.json file gets immediately modified by the extension.
Example: I move from Feature1 to Main, then to Feature2 branch.

Describe the solution you'd like
As Auto Detection is a nice feature to update paths, it would be nice if we can delay the updating of the settings file with user interaction. For instance,

1. A notification can be displayed saying new paths found, would you like to update?
2. A Button or shortcut can be exposed to Find/Update Translation Paths
