Support for async generators?

I'm not sure how would this work or would it be really worth it or not, but as a baseline idea, perhaps this is a (marginally) simpler syntax for throttling?

let lock = false

const throttled = async function* ($) {
  if (!lock) {
    lock = true
    yield $(value)
    await sleep(1000)
    lock = false
  } else {
    return SKIP
  }
}
