Hi mRemote Team - tried emailing Support Email Address but no response in weeks as follows;

Dear mRemote Support Team, hope all is good. Hope you can help.

My team has (what feels like) a unique experience with the mRemote tooling when it comes to accessing multiple sessions using our RDP Gateway appliance

Analysts Laptop – Only allows 1 session at a time using mRemote
Analysts Desktop – Allows multiple sessions at a time using mRemote.
Others in our org using Desktop and Laptop only have 1 session at a time!

How best we understand/troubleshoot please? What are the likely scenarios/variables in play allowing/preventing such an experience?

We of course would prefer The Desktop experience mentioned above for everyone so we can securely manage multiple sessions via RDP Gateway (PSM Solution)

Thank you so much .

Hi

There is no way to restrict the amount of connections allowed within mRemoteNG (yet) as far as I know. mRemoteNG leverages the underlying windows Remote Desktop Binaries and with that can adhere to some group policies, but as far as your issue is concerned there seems to be a difference on how your users connect. May it be the username, computer account or IP used to connect, that's a thing you have to find on your own. Try to compare the connection files, what user they are using and what server they are connecting to. Are they connecting to a server directly or always to a RD gateway? Maybe there's a GPO difference between the connection endpoints as well?

Regards

PS: Please note that mRemoteNG is an open source solution and does not yet offer commercial support.

Hey there, sorry spring holidays for kids so a bit slow response at all.
In regards sessions amount its not mRemoteNG who limits what, technically we are implementing Microsoft RDP protocol using they library so we just run it with credentials stored one way or another and the rest is handled by them - not something we could change at the moment. However in regards of different behavior question is what operating system yours guys are using and what amount of memory each computer has. From windows server side its also could be limited by amount of CAL's by default its allow only 2 different users to be connected.
