The version of com.google.protobuf:protobuf-java used by mapstruct has not been updated for a long time and is quite old (09/2022).

MapStruct only uses protobuf-java for testing purposes. We upgrade those dependencies from time to time. The users of MapStruct are not affected by the dependency we use in our tests.
