I get this popup continuously on OS X 10.10.3 - Chrome Version 42.0.2311.90 (64-bit).

You have a really sad browser. With your sad browser, you will not be able to experience the rave that > is this version of Meatspace. Please use Firefox or Chrome.

Found the issue for my case. I am on a MacBook Pro with an external monitor connected via display port (laptop lid is closed). If the lid is open and the laptop is able to access the webcam than the site loads without the modal window.

Perhaps a more informative message might be more appropriate for users?

If meatspaces requires an immediate connection to a webcam, then that could be the case, as I'm pretty sure the screen I was using when I submitted this issue didn't have a webcam.

I confirmed that was the issue. I peeped the code and saw that it tries to stream video from the cam, if it fails to do so than the modal is shown.
