In the picture I used a reference to another excel file, which works perfectly in Excel, however, Excel labs throws an error, so the formula can't be edited.
It would be nice if we could save even if there are (false positive) syntax errors.

Are you able to report the entire formula which you are editing?
I have tried using Excel Labs to enter a simple formula like =[MK.xlsx]C!$B$2 + 1, and I see that Excel Labs does display a syntax error, however it is able to save it fine. Indeed, we did test this scenario during development and it is intended to be possible to save. (I admit it would be nice if Excel Labs could resolve the references [MK.xlsx]C!... but this isn't possible at the moment.)
If your formula isn't saving, I suspect that it is actually something else in the formula which is causing the problem, not the [MK.xlsx]C!B2 reference.
