Manually trigger enter and spacebar actions?

I would like to run some code when the enter and spacebar keys are pressed on the focused editor.
The code I run doesn't mess with the editor itself, so i just want to execute the default behavior for these keys.
I tried with executeEdits and adding an empty space or a new line but it messes with the decorations even with the never grow option for the stickiness. So i'm not sure which editor actions i need to trigger.

well i ended up checking in onDidChangeModelContent for the changes
