Mockito 3.11.1 seems to fail in Android instrumentation tests

Using Mockito 3.11.1, Android integration test failed to run.

I'm not sure whether this is a Mockito problem, I found only a single reference on the internet, that one mentioned Byte Buddy.

Turns out that java.lang.reflect.TypeVariable does not implement java.lang.reflect.AnnotatedElement on Android. This hierarchy was introduced in Java 8 and I assume that Android did not follow this up.

Patching for the next Byte Buddy release.

Mockito cannot mock this class: interface hu.my.interface.
Mockito can only mock non-private & non-final classes.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ANDROID USERS:

The regular Byte Buddy mock makers cannot generate code on an Android VM!
To resolve this, please use the 'mockito-android' dependency for your application:
