Is your feature request related to a problem? Please elaborate.

Some users in my server have given feedback that they wish to discuss issues with moderators while being unknown.

Describe the solution you'd like

This is why an anonymous thread option would be lovely! So for how it would work -
A user starts a thread via DMs
The thread start confirmation pops up (the one that appears when the confirm_thread_creation config is set to 1), but a 3rd option would be available to make it an anonymous thread
The staff will not be able to tell who is submitting messages, however they can still use ?block inside of the thread (without any arguments) to block the user from using it in case the user is spamming/abusing
This would also be a config option, since not all servers would want this option, but I think it would be a lovely option to add!

Does your solution involve any of the following?

  • Logviewer
  • New config option

Describe alternatives you've considered

The only way I've found to do this currently is via external methods with a link inside of the server, like a google forms sheet (which doesn't exactly allow for discussion).

Who will this benefit?

This will benefit any server that wishes to gain feedback from users who are less comfortable with talking with the staff. I have several server members I know that refuse to submit feedback because of anxiety.

But it wouldn't be truly anonymous because bot owners could still see who it is. That could ruin the anonymous and trust part a bit and I think a third-party option would be the best.
