Plugin complains about "INVOKESPECIAL/STATIC on interfaces require ASM 5" although ASM 5.0.1 present

In the build I do the get following output:

So from the stack trace it seems that ASM 5.0.1 is present. Still it complains that ASM 5 is missing.

seems like it was fixed in cobertura/cobertura#299 need to PR master and up the dep version (currently 2.1.1)

I see the same issue after 2 years from the original post. Any workaround is appreciated.
