An in-progress ticket documenting areas for UX improvement...

  1. Do you plan on using the "Welcome to HTINTB" dialog/view for the finished product, or is it temporary? If the latter, we might want to consider an empty state for the app, or making this view a more branded, welcoming experience that clearly displays the two paths users can take (manual vs connected).
  2. If you do pick the Manual path, there's no input on the next step, which asks you to name your bank. Looks like this path hasn't been built out yet.

  1. Its temporary, I would ideally love to have some kind of on-boarding thing for new users to walk them through how things work and allow them to mess around with manual things or link their bank accounts.
  2. The manual path right now is broken but I'm working on getting it fixed. It will be way easier to do testing with the manual path because it does not rely on a third party to produce problem scenarios.

  • Move bank account selector to be the left-most item in header to provide better context. Addressed by: f90deb3
  • Remove checkbox from all rows, but highlight the row that is selected.
    • Add back button to the detail views to remove selection easily.
    • Colocate relavent actions.
  • Navigation bar active state for the currently selected application spot: transactions, expense, goal
  • Better focus around balance display in navigation.
  • Use primary color for the highlight of rows ~10% color.
  • Sticky date headers rather than on the row. Addressed by: 8e692c9
  • Filters for transactions; spent from safe to spend, spent from {something}
  • Transaction name should be the largest in the detail, with an edit button on the side. Not as a row.
  • Move date to below amount in detail; reduce font size of date.
  • Change spent-from selector for transaction to side view, not dialog.
  • Inline transaction editing.
