Lerna has been officially marked as "no longer maintained". lerna/lerna#2703 There are definitely options out there, including some approved forks of Lerna. In an effort to not introduce tech debt to this project, there should be a migration plan away from this dependency.

I was spinning up a new MUI project when I noticed that Lerna is no longer maintained.

We are currently discussing it internally
We will of course migrate away from Lerna at some point, the question being when, and toward what.
