POC Radio/Repeater Gateway - how to get mumble use a PTT (GPIO) signal when somebody not our self is speaking on a chanal ?

I am looking for a solution to run mumble on a raspberrypi - where its connected to a CB/WalkieTalkie and input from the radio is working with VOX but the other way I need to control when somebody is speaking and its NOT our self it should activate a PTT using a some eletronics connected to switch the radio/walkietalke to transmit mode. I find somebody made it back in 2015 but maybe it need to be a plugin - I have seen people make modified CM108 soundcard but using the GPIO would make it possible to use alot of soundcards and also les expensive make. Zello, Teamspeak and simular have the option but I have not found it for mumble does anyone know where to look ?

I don't know of any off-the-shelf solution but you should easily be able to write a Mumble plugin that does what you need.

Can I do this in bash maybe ? I have to study alot I think to make a plugin but I am not sure ;)

There are no bindings for Bash (not sure if that would be possible in the first place). You'd have to use C or C++ (or see what the state of the Rust bindings is).

I know its not so easy to just write a plugin ;) I can compile some and understand some but know found another but this also old but https://github.com/dk7lst/mumbleRF this does simular what I have been looking for but again did end with

I know no binding to bash exist ;) its more that my C and C++ is very limited or almost none - zello and teamspeak they have a ptt plugin but both does not run a raspberrypi and it would be perfect - using a old mumble would be OK, but both the mumblePTT and MumbleRF was not compiling on my raspbian bookworm - the idea about to execut a bash script was to easy to modifi is to other types of PTT control like rs232 serial or using the cheaper GPIO pins on raspberryPI - the mumbleRF was made when raspian was a debain buster 4 years ago - anyway the PTT would be usefull to connect CB and PMR and other types of radios to our mumble.

If you don't mind spending about $140, you can do this in hardware using a Signalink USB. I am using one for the same type of setup and it works well with mumble as a Radio-over-IP endpoint. The Signalink presents itself to the OS as a standard USB sound card, but when it outputs audio, it automatically sends the PTT signal to the radio. I am using it with a very cheap chromebook ($40 used on ebay) running Debian 12.

Yes the SignalLink and digipi etc. is expensive compared to use any type of soundcards. if the PTT was done via GPIO it would and it would work with alot of radios also - some using a cheap CM108 soundcard is also possible but i need to be modified.
OK the soundcard would work on other computers - also its possible buy cheap devices that work with some radios but GPIO would work with any radio even old ones and what every soundcard you have also its working with everything from raspberrypi 2w and greater. Some use Zello because its an option with rs232 plugin but it would be faster to use GPIO but I wish I was able to make a plugin - but I dont know if a plugin solution is possible compared to the solution that was possible in 2015 mumble.
I have also looked on talkiepi and talkkonnect but keeping the cost low and faster.

Just for fun - I did get a very cheap POC radio/network radio and it was born with only setting and zello app but via adb I was able to install mumla on the cheap android POC radio and killing the zello I was able to run using usb datacable connected to my linux:

Now mumla was running and because of very small display on the radio i used scrcpy to setup the connection for mumble server and this so cool anyway this was the a very cheap poc radio with android 5.11 but the menu/app only shows zello option because this radio is made only for zello but who needs zello ;) I dont know how to fix the last problems with this poc Hiroyaso radio as I need to use scrcpy to configure the connection and change chanals. The wm display on this radio is also very small and I only buyed this for the test if you like to use a device that works and looks like a regular walkietalkie with PTT key. After install if press the wrong key it will start zello and I have not found a way to start mumla and not the zello.
Anyway I know other POC/networks radios with lager display and even google play acces can run mumbla and use the murmur server my test was just with old and very cheap limited poc radio with only zello or realtt, or teamspeak option.

I only use the radio with the wifi connection but else me and my friend is looking for somebody with skills who can program a plugin that can handle the PTT using GPIO - some CB radioes does have Voice activated PTT - because this would allow anyone using mumble or mumla to join and speak with CB users in a local area - alot uses zello or teamspeak but this does not work with a small raspberry that would be perfect for task.
