Should planets and systems' names be translated? #2561

We have left that up for the translators. I think it's typical to do phonetic translations and not literal ones, however, we don't have some clear guidelines, so it may be worth establishing some. For example, the Japanese translation does "Dust" -> "ダスト" which is a phonetic translation, while, as you point out, the Spanish one does a literal translation "Dust" -> "Polvo". I would be partial for phonetic translations for proper names. |

There are definitely cases where the sensible answer is a literal transition too, like "Eye of Night" or "Emperor's Fist". |

While I was translating Naev, I noticed something. The Spanish translation people translated the names of some planets/systems. E.g. "Dust" --> "Polvo".
On the one hand I think that translating names make things more clear for the player, but I think it also diminishes the 'coolness' and preciseness of the name. And at this point I don't know how to decide, so, thoughts?
