It would be useful to report the set of importers and their status on the VCIO homepage

Could I work on this? I think this would be the good first issue for me.

Hi @pombredanne, could you please clarify what specific information or metrics you are referring to when you mention "status"?

@poju3185 I am returning the question :)

Given the data model, and the data sources we support, what could be helpful for a new user or a returning user to know?

  • May be the list of importers? And some information about when they lats run?
  • Same for improvers?
  • Some counts of package/package versions/vulnerabilities and advisories?

What else would you have liked to know?

i would suggest:

  • list of importers: the specific importer name and the last date (full timestamp) it was run.
  • list of improvers: the specific improver name and the last date (full timestamp) it was run.
  • list of the 25 most recent vulnerabilities imported or improved, with links to a public VCIO instance.

list of the 25 most recent vulnerabilities imported or improved, with links to a public VCIO instance.

I see these as being links on the current instance, would you agree?

@DennisClark @pombredanne, thank you for your guidence and suggestion, I will first try to implement these:

list of importers: the specific importer name and the last date (full timestamp) it was run.
list of improvers: the specific improver name and the last date (full timestamp) it was run.
list of the 25 most recent vulnerabilities imported or improved, with links to a public VCIO instance.

Will report here if I have any progress. Thanks again.

This is my current progress, may I ask if there's anything that needs improvement?
