Two answers

Mirror source tarballs for contributing setup - oilshell.org and/or git scalar #1925 - if we use git, this problem goes away
#shell-gui > How to Show Logs From Parallel Processes -- this is a reason we don't do it in bash

I think YSH needs to have affordances for showing logs and errors, when running in parallel

You don't want to lose errors

But logs should not be interleaved arbitrarily either

That's an open design question
