Feature request: (Etc/)GMT+x timezone declaration in 'timezone' query parameter

It would be useful for programmatic purposes to be able to define timezone in the GMT[+-]x format. Since the online documentation states that "any time zone name from the time zone database is supported", I tried using the canonical 'Etc/GMT+x' format and also simply 'GMT+x', but it seems it's not implemented. I'm receiving "Invalid timezone".
