Is O2 really a 100% compatible Elasticsearch replacement?

On the readme there's this quote

OpenObserve serves as a seamless replacement for Elasticsearch for users who ingest data using APIs and perform searches.

So can I simple configure it to run on port 9200 and it will work with any ES client?

Specifically I was searching for "meilisearch elasticseach wrapper" and found a HN post of zincsearch, which apparently got renamed or recreated as O2.

I don't want to waste time and effort to install and configure it, to find out, it just isn't quite 100% compatible to ES.

The answer is NO.
You have to pay, probably in regular intervals, to be compatible.
Thus, this claim is a lie and when you're lied to ONCE you will be lied to again.
