If you're new to Oppia, welcome!

We have a formal onboarding process that all new contributors, including GSoC applicants, need to follow.

Please follow our onboarding instructions on our GitHub wiki. The wiki also contains information about:

Please do not:

  • Ask to be assigned to issues that someone else is already assigned to and actively working on.
  • Email mailing lists asking how to get started with Oppia when you haven't read the instructions on our wiki yet.
  • Directly email Oppia developers to ask for help. Instead, please ask for help on our GitHub Discussions page.

A lot of people are getting started with Oppia right now. To make sure we have enough time to get everyone's questions answered, please take a look at our documentation first to see if the answer to your question is there. We have put a lot of work into documenting our onboarding process for you on our wiki. If you read those instructions and still have questions, we are happy to help!
