The software (code) is distributed under the MIT License. But the DATA is not. The data is distributed under the "Creative Commons, Attribution-NoDerivatives" license.
Reasoning: In order to prevent fragmentation and ensure the data is properly vetted, the data must go through a verification process in order to be included in the Phylogeny Explorer Project database.
