Quzhibo

QuZhiBo, a knowledge live streaming platform, currently focuses on live streaming technology.

Main process:

• OBS live streaming
• There are three HLS servers, the main SRS automatically forwards to SRS, and then those three are segmented
• There are two FLV servers, remote pull group, found that sometimes it will hang, used a script to monitor SRS, as soon as it is found to hang, immediately restart
• SRS pushes the stream to Qiniu, using the Qiniu interface, to generate m3u8 playback. This way, you can see the playback immediately after the end.

BEGINHO STREAMING PROJECT

I needed solution for pushing streams from origin server
to edge server. On origin server all streams are avaliable
in multicast (prepared with ffmpeg, h264 in mpegts container).
But routing multicast through GRE tunnel to the edge
server was very buggy. Any networks hickups in origin-edge
route were affecting streams in bad way (freezeing, pixelation and such)...
So, I found SRS project and after some reading of docs, I
decided to give it a try. Most intereseting feature of SRS
to me was a "forward" option. It allows to push all streams
you have avaliable on local server (SRS origin) to remote
server (SRS edge) with a single line in config file.

I keep adding new streams with ffmpeg at origin server and they are avaliable
on slave server after second or two. Its almost a year when I started this origin
and edge SRS instances and they are still working without single restart ;)

I didn't analyze SRS in detail, I just feel that the author's documentation is quite smooth and not lacking in humor. But the features I currently use are only RTMP live streaming and HLS, which nginx-rtmp also has, so I still chose to use the foreign product.

A Certain Factory Monitoring System

The main components of a certain factory's monitoring system are:

• Collection end: The collection end uses IPC cameras installed at important monitoring locations in the factory, connected to the monitoring center switch via ethernet or wifi.
• Monitoring center: The central control server is responsible for managing the collection end and the streaming media server, providing a viewing platform for PC/Android/IOS.
• Streaming media server: Responsible for receiving the stream from the collection end, providing the viewing end with RTMP/HLS stream.
• Viewing end: PC/Android/IOS. The PC end is required to have a delay within 3 seconds. Android/IOS delay should be within 20 seconds.

The main process includes:

• Collection end startup: The IPC camera registers with the monitoring center, obtains the publishing address, and informs the monitoring center of the collection end's information, such as the camera device name, IP address, location information, etc.
• Collection end starts streaming: The IPC camera uses librtmp to publish to the address, that is, to push the audio and video data to the RTMP streaming media server.
• Streaming media server receives the stream: The streaming media server uses SRS to receive the RTMP stream from the collection end. There are problems with FMS-3/3.5/4.5, probably due to interfacing issues with librtmp.
• Viewing end viewing: After users log in to the monitoring center using PC/Android/IOS, the monitoring center returns all camera information and stream addresses. The PC end uses flash, with a delay within 3 seconds; Android/IOS uses HLS, with a delay within 20 seconds.
• Time shift: The monitoring center will start a recording plan, recording the RTMP stream as an FLV file. Users can watch the recorded historical videos at the monitoring center.

Network Camera

The current application methods are as follows:

• Run the collection and streaming program on hi3518 (using srslibrtmp)
• At the same time, srs/nginx-rtmp is also running on hi3518 as a server
• The streaming program pushes to the nginx server on the hi3518 machine
• Watch the stream on hi3518 directly from a webpage on a PC

Surveillance viewable on iOS

General surveillance cameras only support RTMP/RTSP output, or support RTSP for stream reading. If you want to watch the surveillance stream on IOS, such as IPad, what should you do? First, deploy an RTMP server such as nginx-rtmp/crtmpd/wowza/red5, then use ffmpeg to convert the RTSP stream to RTMP (or the camera directly pushes the stream to the RTMP server), and then let the server slice it into HLS output for viewing on IOS. It seems quite troublesome to think about it. What if there are many cameras? One server can't handle it, deploy a cluster?

What's the simplest way? Wouldn't it be great if the camera itself supports HLS stream output? That is, the camera has an internal network IP as a server, the camera provides an HLS playback address, and the IOS client, such as IPad, can play this HLS address.

SRS is most suitable for this task, it has few dependencies, and provides arm and image.

Main process:

• Compile srs under arm, deploy to Raspberry Pi, and start srs in the camera.
• Use ffmpeg to push the camera's rtsp to srs in RTMP mode. Or use your own program to collect device data and push RTMP stream to srs.
• Srs distributes RTMP stream and HLS stream. In fact, it can also be viewed on PC.
• Play HLS address on IOS, such as IPad.

Tsinghua Event Live Broadcast

Main process:

• Use the broadcast control system (camera + capture card or camera + director console) in the classroom to push the RTMP stream to the main SRS

With SRS stack is crazy, having a cdn is a great thing, winlin, is an excellent human being and programmer, he created a very good environment in a short time.
everything works fast using docker, of course like any new development has bugs, but they are very slight vs the benefit it provides, I think that for this tool to be the most complete, it lacks load balancing, to add several CDN and statistics.

zap.stream is a streaming site built for nostr our goal is to provide a similar streaming expierice to twitch.tv but on decentralized technology.

nostr protocol provides a decentralized social graph and document model which allows us to interact with a centrally hosted stream.

zap.stream uses SRS as a backend to process and distribute streams, and also to hook billing functions, zap.stream provides multiple endpoints with different price points and transcoding / recording options.

All billing operations use Bitcoin Lightning.

We use SRS to serve our e-commerce livestreaming needs. We start Phase A soon, with the operation of an e-commerce Marketplace, where every merchant will be able to sell their products 24/7/365. Our Marketplace will offer the merchant many tools for marketing, the most important of which is Liveshopping (livestreaming e-commerce).

Any merchant on our marketplace will be able to easily organize a liveshow and with a simple mobile phone he goes live (or via pre-recorded video). Our plan is even bigger as we want to create a network of marketplaces in many countries (franchise of our marketplace) and the merchant from any country will be able to present his products live through a Liveshopping show, which will be shown simultaneously in many countries, merchant will speak in his language, the viewers will read or listen in their own language and they will order in their local marketplace (we call this LIVESHOPPING MARKETPLACE NETWORK).

In our project SRS and Winlin are a great fit. With SRS today we can have effective livestreaming, separately for each merchant, simultaneously for many merchants. All liveshows are recorded (simultaneously) and then presented on demand in the marketplace.

Winlin supported us from the very beginning with great passion and consistency. He has already made important (for us) SRS improvements so that we can go live very soon. We already have the option for real time transcription to serve our next step.
