Windows 11 Professional - lokinet-0.9.11-release not working

Lokinet previously worked well, but the latest install (0.9.11-release), while the program installs with no issues, and the GUI runs (the chart shows data). I can also run a command prompt and ping directory.loki etc., however if I start any browser and go to https://whatismyip.com for example, it will always return my true IP address (v4) from my ISP.
It did not do this prior. Have uninstalled, re-installed, and rebooted. I am unable to find / understand how to debug, as there is not a lot of information I could find except for GUI install / usage.

lokinet will by default not use an exit node by default, that has to be provided manually. additionally i think that the windows installer will clear all existing configs when ran.

My node (in the VPN section) is set to exit.loki, but I am a little confused. In previous versions, I would turn it on, and I thought my browser and apps would all go through the Loki network, now it seems as if that is not the case.

When I go to my browser and use (https://www.whatismyip.com/), the return is my actual IP address from my ISP.

if you click connect it will establish a session with exit.loki but right now i think exit.loki is temporarily offline. there are other demo exits run by the community, there is a list of them on the community run wiki: https://lokinet.wiki/index.php?title=Exit_Nodes
