You should use the built in document exporter and importer to backup and restore data. |

Yes, that I should have, but I didn't :-) So I can't use the importer (I think), as the documents themselves are nowhere to be found. |

@shamoon Do you happen to have any bright ideas on this? :) Much appreciated! |

There is no real built-in mechanism to do this, no. You could try to replace the files at their expected location on disk but that sounds rather tedious and error-prone, but I suppose it depends on how important the data in paperless (tags, correspondents, notes, whatever) are to you. The only other real alternative is to remove them from the database (or remove the entire install) and upload them anew |

Hmm, that is indeed not ideal... Also it seems that it won't redo the thumbnails and such... ...and then set up proper backups! :-) Thanks for thinking along! |

Hello!
My drive where my Paperless documents were stored crashed, so now my documents are "gone"...
I can still recover most documents from other sources, but when trying to upload the documents, Paperless (rightly) indicates that the document already exists, because of course it's still present in the database.
Is there a way to "restore" the documents by reuploading them?
Or some other way to do this?
Thanks!
