Yes I noticed this when putting the PR together. I think it’s really just a buyer-beware kinda thing. IMHO option two is actually worse than 1 because having the buttons line up is advantageous from a user experience perspective, and both are aesthetically unpleasing (although again I think two more unpleasing). The only “solution” would be limiting the overall height or some kind of significant rethink of the cards, neither of which sound like a good idea. Also worth noting that I don’t know how common it is for users to have such a significant mismatch of custom fields between docs in the same view (ie one with 10 and another with 0) but people do all kinds of different things with the software. |

With the latest version v2.8 of Paperless-ngx that introduced showing of custom fields on the grid view. When you start to have multiple custom views to show, the documents that do not use all the custom fields simply just expand with empty spaces.
This is not visually pleasing :

The second option is also not the best solution, but what do y'all think ?
