paperless does not recongnize documents with multiple sites

Hi,
i have a problem with multiple sites documents. I use a Printer/Scanner (HP 4620 series) to scan a bunch of documents. Instead pulling all scans to a single file, i managed it, that every single scan gets its own file. This is only a easy example for single-printed sites. I havent tried full-duplex-scannt files yet.

Dokument 1 - Seite 1 frontpage --> scan_0001
Dokument 1 - Seite 2 frontpage --> scan_0002
Dokument 2 - Seite 1 frontpage --> scan_0003
Dokument 3 - Seite 1 frontpage --> scan_0004
Dokument 4 - Seite 1 frontpage --> scan_0005
Dokument 4 - Seite 2 frontpage --> scan_0006

These files are stored in an folder. When the scan of all documents is over, i copy them into the consume folder of papaerless.
So what happend is, that paperless does not recognize, that there are multiple-sites for document1 and dokument 4. So i have to merge them manually afterwards. What am i doing wrong? My config is like this:

As long as i havent fixed this problem, a can not start to scan documents, that consists aof dubble-printed-sites.
Someone has the same problem or solved it already? My english is not the best. So at the end, you can find it in german too.

vielleicht kann mir hier jemand weiterhelfen, Ich habe ein Problem mit der Erkennung mehrseitiger Dokumente durch paperless ngx. Ich habe einenn MFD, der mir einen Stapel an Dokumenten in einen beliebigen Ordner scant. Diese werden als Einzelseiten im Format: Scan_#### fortlaufend gespeichert. Ich scanne zur Zeit erstmal nur einseitig bedruckte Dokumente (also ohne die Rückseite) die zwischendurch auch aus mehreren Seiten bestehen können.
Ein ganz einfaches Beispiel sieht so aus....

Dokument 1 - Seite 1 --> scan_0001
Dokument 1 - Seite 2 --> scan_0002
Dokument 2 - Seite 1 --> scan_0003
Dokument 3 - Seite 1 --> scan_0004
Dokument 4 - Seite 1 --> scan_0005
Dokument 4 - Seite 2 --> scan_0006

Wenn ich diese Dateien jetzt in einen consume-ordner kopiere, erkennt paperless nicht, das es zwischendurch auch mehrseitige Dokumente enthält und gibt mir eben für jede gesannte Seite ein Dokument. Das heisst, dass ich jetzt nachträglich den ganzen Stapel durchsuchen muss um dann diese Dateien zu einem Dokument zusammen zu führen.
Gibt es irgendwelche zusätzlichen Einstellungen die man setzen muss, damit er das erkennt?

Als nächster Schritt stünde dann das sannen doppelseitig bedruckter Seiten an. Full Duplex macht mein MFD leider nicht. Da muss ich dann den Stapel einmal durchlaufen lassen und danach umdrehen und ein zweites mal Scannen lassen.

So to clarify, you are not talking about the collation of double-sided documents.

Instead you want to upload a mix of several pdfs belonging to different documents and have parperless sort them out / combine them?
How is paperless supposed to know which pdf belongs to which document?

Yesi am not talking about double sided collaction. I get a bunch of bills or delivery papers. Before scanning, i order them by correspondent and date. Paperless treats every PDF you import as one independent document, there is no way to change this.
I also never heard of a plugin/fork/script that would enable automatic merging of documents.
So, if you read somewhere about that feature, you might drop a link to the source.

However, I know some folks use tools like described here for this use-case.

so what for is the ASN BARCODE possibility? Should this not merge them?

No. It will set a document's ASN. There is no automatic merging of documents, except as pointed out above with the collation feature.
