HMR causes issues in browsers without import support

Hello, I'm trying to use Parcel to build a site that's targeting browsers as far back as Safari on iOS 8, and it's mostly working, however I have an issue, where it's trying to use import() in a browser that doesn't support ESModules,resulting in Unexpected use of reserved word import. Is it possible to have Parcel compile them into traditional scripts?
