List of leftover todos for OpenPMD output:

  • non-cell centered fields
  • sparse fields
  • add unit callback
  • support arbitrary forrests, i.e., not rely on legacy location
  • particles
  • more flexible CMake logic
  • unify Params dump/read (lots of shared logic between hdf5 and openpmd output)

Related:

  • check GetLegacyTreeRootLevel offset in Mesh::GetLevelsAndLogicalLocationsFlat and whether this still applies/is required for updated restarts
