Permissions from manifest can be more bounded?

I'm trying to run the extension on electron but the current supported manifest keys are this ones https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/api/extensions. Checking the code, it's really necessary to use all the features that activeTab offers? It would be a possibility to disable some features (if really needed) to be compatible with electron? Or you can guide me to make a fork to disable the essential to be able to work with electron? Thanks!
