Is there a elegant way to add local workspace module without specified version?

Add module through pnpm add "@monorepo/foo@workspace:*" --filter @monorepo/bar, we will get "@monorepo/foo": "workspace:0.0.1" installed.
I saw many projects are modifying the version manually to "@monorepo/foo": "workspace:*".

I wanna some guides to do this.
