Description:

I recently found new versions of the framework here on Github and Nexus, and decided to replace the old dinput8.dll (1.585) to the newest version (1.617). I booted up the game, and the framework initializes fine, showing all the drop down menus. But after the RE Engine logo, the screen remains black for a solid 30 seconds before crashing.

  • Tried older versions of the framework like 1.4; still crashed
  • Verified integrity of game files a couple of times, disabled/uninstalled other mods from FluffyModManager. Then, extracted dinput8.dll file to game directory, booted up the game without any other mods loaded; still crashed

Specs:

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950x 16-core processor

Also:

While I was experiencing crashes, GeForce experience released a new graphics driver, and have now updated to version 551.86, thinking it might solve the problem. Still, it was crashing.

Many thanks.
