Is there an established approach to using Prettier as a codegen tool?

I would like to add a Typescript Codegen step to my project.

It seems like a good&easy approach would be to construct an AST and then feed it to Prettier to output. Is there an established method to do this or is it new territory for the project?

Is there an AST transformation step that I can hook into? Is it strongly typed?
