LDAP as backend would be nice.

Yes, would be not to much work and a very common use case.
To code could be similar to: https://github.com/jtblin/go-ldap-client

It's not one of my personal usecases, so I can't promise any timeline for that.
Of course, I would welcome a contribution ;-)

I suggest, as a workaround until the LDAP integration is done, that you use an intermediary Oauth2 provider, such as Keycloak.

Wouldn't Keycloak require a custom Provider implementation? Or have I missed something in the documentation about how to specify an Oauth2 provider other than google or github?
