People,
There are quite a few discussions on this issue but none of the suggestions fix my problem.
ranger version: ranger 1.9.3 Python version: 3.12.0 (main, Oct 2 2023, 00:00:00) [GCC 13.2.1 20230918 (Red Hat 13.2.1-3)] Locale: None.None
Operating system and version: Fedora 39 with Sway
Terminal emulator and version: kitty 0.30.1
With these lines in ranger.conf:
set preview_images true set preview_images_method kitty
and ONLY these two lines in rifle.conf:
mime ^image, has eog, X, flag f = eog -- "$@" mime ^image/svg, has eog, X, flag f = eog -- "$@"
These work as expected:
rifle x.png rifle x.svg
but only the x.png works from ranger - the svg gives error:
"cannot identify image file"
I have seen some comments that this is a Sway problem? - why exactly?
ranger is able to open svg files as well as bitmaps.
This bug slows down my image browsing.
?
As above.
Thanks, Phil.
