Informations about getXScale in the BarChart documentation

Hello,
In the bar chart example of the documentation you're using a function called getXScale but it's not specified where it comes from.

I did some digging in the repository, it's comming from a common directory but it doesn't seem to be exposed. Is it for internal library use only ?
